Uniform Policy
Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten
Shirts
- As required by JP Schools for safety reasons, all Pre-K and Kindergarten students must wear official solid purple,
collared shirts with the Gretna No. 2 logo (long or short-sleeved). Shirts with ruffles and lace may not be worn. Students will be encouraged to keep shirts tucked in at all times.
- Official school spirit shirts may be worn on Fridays.
Bottoms
- Students must wear khaki pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, and/or skorts of an appropriate length. Cargo pants, joggers, jeans, jeggings, and capri pants are not permitted.
Sweaters/Sweatshirts/Light Jackets
- Pre-K and Kindergarten students are encouraged to wear solid purple sweaters, sweatshirts, and light jackets; however, solid orange, dark green, khaki, white, gray, or black sweaters, sweatshirts, and light jackets are permissible. These items may not have images, embellishments, or writing.
Shoes/Socks
- Lace-up or Velcro athletic/tennis shoes with a rubber sole must be worn. (Students will wear these shoes to P.E.) Students are free to wear any color shoes. For safety reasons, slip-on shoes (shoes without laces) and rain boots are not permitted.
- Students may wear crew socks or ankle socks only. Socks must be solid white or black only. Purple/lavender socks are not allowed. Footed white or black
stockings/tights are allowed on cold days. Leggings are not allowed.
Winter Wear
- Solid white or black undershirts without writing may be worn under school shirts (may be long or short-sleeved).
- Any color or type of heavy overcoat may be worn to school, but it must be removed in the classroom.
1st Grade – 5th Grade
Shirts
- Students must wear official orange or green collared shirts with the Gretna No. 2 logo (long or short-sleeved).
- Students must have at least one official orange collared shirt with the Gretna No. 2 logo for field trips and picture days. Shirts with ruffles or lace may not be worn.
- Official school spirit shirts may be worn on Fridays.
- Shirts must be tucked in at all times.

- Students must wear brown or black belts with looped clothing. (No large belt buckles are allowed.)

Jewelry and Accessories
- Students may wear small hair accessories such as bows and clips. Small hoops or stud earrings are allowed. Necklaces and bracelets may not be worn.
- Students are not allowed to use or have on their persons a cell phone/smart watch or any other electronic device on campus at any time. Smart watches cannot be worn even if the device is on "school mode."
- Buttons and pins are not allowed

Students are expected to be neatly groomed and wear their complete school uniform daily. Uniform violations may result
in disciplinary action, and parents may be contacted to bring proper uniforms.
